Finding hidden files is not easy. How can you spot files protected with password? The traditional way is opening file by file until you are asked to enter password. This process may take from several hours to several days, depending on the size of a hard drive. Besides, there can be hidden folders or folders in which you would never look, for instance, for financial files.
Password protected files are always suspicious since if a person does not want others to open the file, then he has reasons to do so. It means that this file contains some important or compromising information.

Show Hidden Files can scan folders, directories and hard drives, including network hard drives. First, you need to select a folder or a hard drive in which Show Hidden Files will look for password protected files. Keep in mind that you can select several folders to be scanned.
If you are interested in files and archives of particular size, search by size option will be extremely helpful for you (for instance, you may search for files less than 2MB). The same concerns the date on which files were created. If you are interested in the most recent hidden files, then set relevant values in the date tab.
Show Hidden Files can recognize different file types, which mean you can set file extensions which are most important to you. Thus, if you want to find archives or Excel documents, check a relevant box in Search for tab.
When you are done with the search the program can create a list of found files or copy them to a previously specified folder.
